4G Network Access Solutions For MIFI Products
1. Current Status Of 4G Network
Around the world, LTE networks have now become the focus of investment and maintenance for most operators, and some operators have started to consider closing their original 2G and 3G networks, or retaining only a small amount of investment for 2G and 3G networks, according to statistics, by 2020 LTE networks will already provide communication services for more than two-thirds of the world's population.
A report from GSA shows that at the end of November 2018, 886 operators had invested in LTE networks worldwide, of which 710 had launched 745 commercial LTE networks. 326 operators had invested in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) or LTE-Advanced Pro (LTE-A Pro) technology, of which 281 have launched LTE-A or LTE-A Pro networks.
2. Data Service Needs And Pain Points
In the past, 2G and 3G were the basic networks for wireless communications, and voice was the core service. Currently, the business needs of consumer users are diversifying, and the demand for data services has taken over the core position of traditional voice services.
With the accelerated development of LTE, the issue of its traffic operation has become increasingly prominent. The number of fixed wireless access (FWA) connections is expected to triple to nearly 160 million by the end of 2025, accounting for 25% of total data traffic on mobile networks worldwide. By the end of 2019, FWA data traffic will account for around 15% of total data traffic on mobile networks worldwide. By 2025, this figure is expected to grow approximately eight-fold to 53 EB, representing 25% of total data traffic on global mobile networks.
Living in the Internet era, not having WiFi in your place has become one of the most unbearable things in modern life. For example, when you are on a business trip and need to upload information over the internet; when you are at a family gathering and need to share the internet with multiple people and share photos; when you are playing sports outdoors and want to share live videos, etc. It is clear that the ubiquitous internet is changing people's lives and there is an urgent need for wireless internet access through mobile phones, iPads, laptops and other terminals at all times. However, the current WiFi network coverage is only limited to a limited area and cannot be shared instantly between multiple users' devices at any time and anywhere, which does not fully address the need for users to use the network at any time.
3. MIFI Product Working Principle
MiFi is a portable broadband wireless device, the size of a mobile phone, that combines the functions of a modem, router and access point. The built-in modem accesses a wireless signal and the internal router shares this connection between multiple users and wireless devices.
